Allison Yule questions insurance innovation award

This year saw the 12th Annual Insurance Awards - the biggest celebration of success, innovation and best practice in the general insurance industry. It was held on the 5th December 2008 at Birmingham’s Metropole Hotel and I was lucky enough to attend.
It’s an event attended and sponsored by many major insurers, the likes of, AXA, Norwich Union, RAC, Fortis and many others that we deal and work with on a daily basis.
There are many prestigious awards given in all different categories. Motor insurer of the year was won this year by Fortis Insurance, General Insurer of the year was won by Norwich Union and interestingly Kwik Fit picked up an award for Customer Services Initiative. This award was given to them for coming up with the ‘innovative’ idea that when you call them and take out an insurance policy you are allocated a member of staff. This member of staff will deal with you during the length of the policy. Isn’t this to be expected? This is a service that insurance brokers have been offering to their customers for years. At Andrew Yule Insurance we know how important it is to for our customers to have a one on one relationship - we don’t expect an award for this, it comes as standard and is all part of the good service you should expect to receive.
